Passing Of Angels: The Week of June 21, 2009

What a week! The passing of Ed McMahon on June 23, followed by both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson on June 25, was felt throughout America as well as the rest of the world. All three have embodied the symbol of “angels” in their lives. Angels were originally created for the purpose of serving and carrying out the will of God. Angels have free will and can be good or bad. The fallen angels rebelled and became evil angels. Satan is such an angel. An angel according to Webster dictionary is “a messenger”. It is this aspect of angel as “messenger” that will be examined in relationship to the lives of the three personalities who have recently made their transition.

Place of Death

Los Angels, California was the place of record that Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died. Both Ed McMahon and Michael Jackson died at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Farrah Fawcett recorded place of death was St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California. Santa Monica is a city in western Los Angels county. “Los Angels” literally means “the angels”, hence the popular saying when referring to Los Angeles as the “city of angels”.

All three were entertainers of varying degrees of talent and influence. Entertainers are the bringer of messages, whether it’s the message of their corporate sponsors, countries in which they are citizens or the culture and values of their ethnic group or the stories of their personal lives within the framework of challenges, tragedies as well as triumphs. Each exhibited an aspect of the “messenger” aspect of an angel in plying their craft.

Ed McMahon was best known as the sidekick or #2 to Johnny Carson. McMahon was famous for his signature line “Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere’s Johnny!” Remember an angel is one who brings a message. Another way of bringing a message is to announce it.

Farrah Fawcett’s claim to fame was being one of the three female members of the Charlie’s Angels cast. Her connection to the angel symbolism is one easily recognized by most. There are other religious symbolic aspects of Fawcett’s life. Raised as a Roman Catholic, she was born in Corpus Cristi, Texas. Corpus Christi literally means “ body of Christ”. As mentioned earlier, Fawcett died in Santa Monica, California. Santa Monica, translates to Saint Monica. Monica is the mother of African theologian St. Augustine.

With Michael Jackson, the angel symbolism is far more pronounced than the two others previously mentioned above; it is seen with his profession and first name. In his role as an entertainer, Michael in spite of his use of plastic surgery was a messenger of Black Culture. The music of Michael Jackson maintained the memory of African –American musical heritage. He reclaimed forgotten strands of African-American music legacy such as rock, as the song “Dirty Dianna” and “Beat It” demonstrate. Michael is translated in Hebrew “who is equal to God?”. In the Judeo-Christian tradition Michael is the name of one of the archangels. Michael in the Hebrew thought is one of the seven archangels. (Michael is the 7th Child for his parents!) . Michael in the Christian religion is the leader of the army of the good angels against those angels who rebelled in heaven. Michael is the first archangel mentioned by name in the Christian Bible as seen in Daniel 12:1 and Jude 1:9. What is of particular interest to this analysis is the affiliation of Jackson to the Jehovah Witness denomination. Michael Jackson is said to be a member of the Jehovah Witness sect. His mother and father were considered devout members and if reports are to be believed, Michael Jackson went door to door when he was younger to promote his faith and enlist converts. The archangel Michael in the Jehovah Witness belief system is the same or equal to Jesus. Michael Jackson’s legal battles, biased media coverage and personal struggles lend themselves to the “Michael Archangel” motif of the struggle of “good” versus “evil”. The connection that Michael Jackson has to his fans is in many ways reflective of a religious or cult like manner, where Michael Jackson takes on the personage of a messianic or demi-god figure which was evident before his death and most likely will become more pronounced now that he has made his transition.

Other Correspondences

The Number 6 The number “6” appears with Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. With Ed McMahon, the number 6 is seen in his birth date. We take the numerical value of the birth month, birth day and each digit in the birth year and add them together. McMahon was born on March 6, 1923 which translates to the numerical value of 3 +6+1+9+2+3= 24=2+4=6. Both Fawcett and Jackson date of death adds up to 6: 6+2+5+2+0+0+9=24=2+4=6 Not only do we find 6 with all three but also the number 24!! The number 24 is also the number of Kobe Bryant the star player of The Los Angeles Lakers. Both McMahon and Jackson died at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center; Reagan’s full name is Ronald Wilson Reagan. His first, middle and last names each contain 6 letters. Political Both McMahon and Jackson died at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Reagan was known for his conservative politics. Fawcett was born in the Republican bastion of Corpus Christi.

Everyday people make their transition and no longer exist in physical form on the earth plane. This process is commonly called death. In non-western traditions life continues when one supposedly dies, this is sometimes referred to as “the after-life”. Concepts such as heaven and hell are in line with the notion of an after-life.

Farrah Fawcett died at St. John’s Hospital. John means Yahweh is gracious.
