The Metaphysical Dimensions Of Christine Giffords & The Mass Shooting In Tucson, Arizona

The mass shooting in Tuscon, Arizona on January 8, 2011 was “guided” by the metaphysical themes found in the month of January, “Arizona” and the numbers 4 and 8 among others.

The mass shooting where Jared L. Loughner killed six and injured 13 most notably Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords took place during the month of historical significance for persons of African ancestry and America, especially in regards to the issue of violence.

The fact that this incident occurred in January is significant for both the metaphysical and historical meaning inherent with the month of  January.

The month of January is named after the Roman mythological figure Janus. Janus is ascribed with authority over “of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings, endings and time.” Janus has two heads, facing opposite directions; one head looks back at the last year while the other looks forward to the new, simultaneously into the future and the past.

According to the Oxford Dictionary of Mythology:

An old Italian deity, represented with two faces, looking different ways.

His double-gated temple on the Forum in Rome had a symbolic significance: it was open in time of war and closed in time of peace.

Janus may have been connected with the fortunes of war because any army had to pass through a gateway in order to start a campaign. An ianua, ‘entrance gate’, has two sides and presumably represents the two possible outcomes of any future event—success or failure.

From this military association Janus developed into a god of all ‘beginnings’. The month of January was sacred to him—today Europeans continue to look forwards and backwards at this time—while as Janus Quadrifrons, ‘four heads’, he presided over the four seasons. The Romans named Janus first in any list of gods invoked in prayer.”

The temples of Janus were closed were closed only during peacetime, an extremely rare event. During the reign of Roman King Numa the temples of Janus were closed in 235 BC after the first Punic War and secondly in after the battle of Actium in 31 BC.

The Punic Wars denote the military struggles between Rome and ancient Carthage. Ancient Carthage is today’s Tunisia which has been in the news due to protests by the masses against the corruption of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who was ousted from power on January 14, 2011.

The tragic day of shooting on January 8, 2011 was also the earth-day/birthday anniversary of Noble Drew Ali, the founder of the Moorish Science Temple who was born 125 years ago on January 8, 1886. Noble Drew Ali was under surveillance by local police and the FBI. Noble Drew Ali was  allegedly beaten by the Chicago Police in 1929 and died months later under suspicious circumstances.

The role of the Chicago local police and the FBI is seen by some as the source of the violence that took place amongst members within Noble Drew Ali’s organization. The FBI created a file on The Moorish Science Temple consisting of  3,117 pages. This external agitation on the part of the law enforcement agencies to disrupt  organizations such as The Moorish Science Temple is part of the paradigm violence in America.

Gunman Jared L. Loughner responsible for the Tuscon, Arizona mass shooting was a product of the military mentality and covert actions of the state against what those who are viewed as holding dissenting views.

The mass shooting on January 8, 2011 took place four days from  the 63rd year of the birth of Khalid Abdul Muhammad. Khalid Muhammad was born on January 12, 1948.

Interesting to note that the high priest of conservative right venom, Rush Limbaugh is also born on  the same day with his birth date on January 12, 1951.

Dr. Khalid Muhammad who passed away under suspicious circumstances on February 17, 2001, was a high-ranking member of the Nation of Islam and later was the leader of the New Black Panther Party.

Dr. Khalid Muhammad was known for his uncompromising stance for the liberation of African people all over the world. He was censured by both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate for his now famous 1993 Kean College speech in Union Township, New Jersey

What is obvious with the censure of the Khalid Muhammad by the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate is the double standard and blatant hypocrisy of the white ruling elite.

While the comments made by Khalid Muhammad during his speech at Kean College earned him censure by the U.S. government, then what should those made by the Tea Party, Sarah Palin and white talk show radio earn them?

If the white ruling establishment were just as vigilant in silencing the voice of Khalid Muhammad as they should be with the venom from the conservative right, maybe Jared Loughner would not have felt comfortable in being so violent and having the desire to murder.

With the mass shooting taking place in the state of Arizona, it is interesting to note that Arizona Senator Republican John McCain did not vote to censure Khalid Abdul Muhammad.

7 days from the January 8, 2010 mass shoot is the 82nd year since the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born. The federal holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr. occurred 9 days later on  January 17, 2011.

The record is clear on where Dr. King stood on the issue of violence and the nature of the United States of America. In his speech “Beyond Vietnam” delivered April 4, 1967 , a year before his assassination in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968:

“As I have walked among the desperate, rejected, and angry young men, I have told them that Molotov cocktails and rifles would not solve their problems.

I have tried to offer them my deepest compassion while maintaining my conviction that social change comes most meaningfully through nonviolent action. But they ask — and rightly so — what about Vietnam? They ask if our own nation wasn’t using massive doses of violence to solve its problems, to bring about the changes it wanted.

Their questions hit home, and I knew that I could never again raise my voice against the violence of the oppressed in the ghettos without having first spoken clearly to the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today — my own government.”

King’s observation on the role of the United States government in aggressively pursuing and maintaining the violence paradigm was central to his opposition to the Vietnam War.

The Vietnam War was representative of America’s Military Industrial Complex, which President Eisenhower warned  Americans about in his farewell address on January 17, 1961.

On January 17, 1961 the 34th president of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower in his farewell address put forth the following analysis:

“Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.

In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever-present and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific technological elite.”

The location of the mass shooting in Tuscon, Arizona contained metaphysical registers within the state of “Arizona“.

The first westerner credited with entering the territory now referred to as Arizona was Estevanico also known as Stephen The Moor. Estevanico according to most historical accounts was from North Africa. In addition to being an explorer he was also a renowned healer.

The state of Arizona was among the last states to recognize the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Legendary hip-hop group Public Enemy penned the song “By The Time I Get To Arizona” to protest Arizona’s resistance to honoring Dr. King.

The state of Arizona is also significant because it is the home of Republican Senator John McCain, who was also his party’s candidate for President against then Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

It has been cited by many that it was the caustic rhetoric of those who opposed the policies of  President Barack Obama which was a contributing factor to motivating Jared Loughner’s  violent rampage.

Numbers 4 and 8

The numbers 4 and 8 were featured prominently, with their vibrations resonating very strongly on the day of the mass shooting.

The date of the mass shooting was on January 8, 2011, which equals 1+8+2+0+1+1=13. 13=1+3=4.

The numbers 4 and 8 share metaphysical qualities.

The president of the United States at this time is Barack Obama, who is the 44th president of the country. “44” which is considered a master number and is not simplified to a single digit expression, nevertheless  “44”= 4+4=8.

Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who was shot in the face by gunman Jared Loughner, embodied the energy of both numbers 4 and 8 in the following ways:

  1. Gabrielle Giffords was born on June 8, 1970. Which equals 6+8+1+9+7+0=31=3+1=4. Remember the relationship between 4 and 8.
  2. Giffords was 40 years at the time of the tragic incident.
  3. Giffords represented Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.
  4. From January 1, 2001 – January 8, 2003, Gifford served in the Arizona House of Representatives as a member from the 13th District. 13=1+3=4.

Giffords’ husband Mark Edward Kelly also shares in the number 4 energy vibration:

  1. Kelly is  an astronaut and the commander of STS-134  Endeavour, the final planned mission of the American space shuttle program. The numerical value of letters “STS” according to the Pythagorean numerology system is S=1 +T=2 + S=1=4.  The simplified expression of the number “134”= 1+3+4=8.
  2. “In July 2006, Kelly served as pilot for STS-121 Discovery, the second Return to Flight mission following the loss of Columbia in February 2003. Because of weather delays, STS-121 became the first Shuttle mission to launch on the Fourth of July.”
  3. Kelly’s fourth mission, STS-134, has a target launch date of April 19, 2011.  April is the 4th month of the year in the Gregorian calendar cycle.

Gunman Jared Lee Loughner expressed the numbers 4 and 8 in this way:

  1. Jared Lee Loughner was 22 years old when he committed his act of violence. 22 is a master number and not simplified to a single digit but it does equal 4 for “22”=2+2=4.
  2. Loughner allegedly purchased a 9mm Glock pistol used in the shooting from a Sportsman’s Warehouse in Tucson on November 30, 2010= 11+30+2+0+1+0=44. “44”=4+4=8.
  3. Loughner was born on September 10, 1988.

The numbers 4 and 8 was present among the six who died such as  Federal Judge John Roll, who was born on February 8, 1947= 2+8+1+9+4+7=31=3+1=4. Observe that Roll was born on the 8th day of February, 1947 and was murdered on the 8th day of January, 2011.

Numbers & Their Meaning

  • It is the number of Jupiter, law living master of protection and justice, organizer of everything that has been created.
  • Four is the number of the organization. Simple projection of the unit, the fourth was the number of perfect pace.
  • The amount of the order (the four directions of space were the first means of targeting known by men, both on land and at sea), which was introduced in the symbolism of the solar cults.

  • Many states had formerly four provinces and cities divided into districts, through four gates were opened for the addresses of space (in China, Mexico, Sudan …).
  • These meanings were extended to real titles: Lord of the four suns. Master of the Four Seas, Lord of the four parts of the world, were terms that designated the kings and chiefs, common in Sanskrit, the ancient Babylon, the Chinese, Peruvians.

  • The number 8 stands in symbolism for the Planet Saturn and in occult studies, is called the “symbol of human justice.”
  • The occult symbol of 8 has from time immemorial been represented by the figure of Justice with a Sword pointing upwards and a Balance or Scales in the left hand.
  • There are many very curious things in history as regards this number. The Greeks called it the number of Justice on account of its equal divisions of equally even numbers.
  • This number influences all persons born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th in any month. *Gabrielle Giffords and John Roll were born on the 8th day!
  • Number couple, female and liabilities, first issue cubic (2 x 2 x 2 = 8), eight representing the Earth, not its size but in its volume.
The pitagóricos, who called it the Great Tetraktis, it became a symbol of love and friendship, prudence and reflection.

  • Eight prophets were descended from Rahab.
  • There were 8 sects of Pharisees.
  • Noah was the 8th in direct descent from Adam.
  • The strange number of three eights (888) is considered by students of Occultism to be the number of Jesus Christ in His aspect as the Redeemer of the world.  Curiously enough, the addition of 888 makes 24 and 2 plus 4 gives the 6 which is the number of Venus, the representative of Love.

The number 8 was metaphysically present in the historical significant events and personalities that were connected to the month of January previously highlighted in this article.

Noble Drew Ali’s date of birth on January 8, 1886 synchronized with the occurrence of the Tucson, Arizona mass shooting in several ways:

  • Noble Drew Ali was born January 8, 1886 and the mass shooting took place on January 8, 2011.
  • Noble Drew Ali’s birth was 125 years ago from January 8, 2011.  “125”=1+2+5=8.

Dr. Khalid Muhammad whose day of birth was 4 days after the shooting, expressed the number 8 vibrational energy in his date of birth on January 12, 1948=1+12+1+9+4+8=35=3+5=8.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s day of birth is actually on January 15th, 1929 and was federally recognized this year on January 17, 2011. “17”=1+7=8.

King is unfortunately best known for his “I Have A Dream” speech which is only one of the many he delivered in his life-time. The “I Have A Dream Speech” is  17 minutes long. “17”=1+7=8.

Dwight Eisenhower gave his farewell address on January 17, 1961 where he introduced the term “military industrial complex”.  January 17, 1961=1+17+1+9+6+1=35=3+5=8.

Consider that this hateful act of violence took place during the administration of President Barack Obama, who is the 44th president of the United States. “44”=4+4=8.

The mass shooting was rooted in the extreme opposition to America’s first acknowledged president of African ancestry and took place in a state where the first “westerner” to enter its area was  Estevanico a North African.

The failure to assess its true historical inventory has led to missed opportunities for true lasting change in America as well as the inability to have liberating spiritual insight.

The words and work of Noble Drew Ali, Dr. Khalid Muhammad, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dwight D. Eisenhower and Estevanico challenge America to eliminate racism and alter its violent nature.

Absence of true reflection on the lives of these men mentioned and others like them, people such as Jared Loughner though classified as “crazy” by society are in reality “normal” for a society structured as a war machine, waging destruction against its own and the rest of the world.
